
Raymond C. Goetschkes of The Villages. Fl. and formerly of Mayohpac, NY passed away suddenly of heart failure on Thursday, August 7th 2025. He was 83.
Born on Sept. 26th 1941 in The Bronx, NY. He was the son of Andrew Goetschkes and Margaret (O’Neill) Goetschkes. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother Andy and sister-n-law Margaret.
Left to cherish his memory include his significant other of 13 years Regina Jones, and his Daughter Tara Conlan and husband Jeffrey Conlan and his son Raymond Goetschkes, Jr. and Grandchild William Conlan. A niece and 3 nephews.
Ray was a man of many hats. He was a structural Iron worker. When work got scarce, he joined the NYPD, got hurt, then took many college classes in Accounting, Law and graduated from the New York Botanical Gardens. Owned a kitchenette with his brother Andy in NYC, Later started a landscape business. While doing all these accomplishments he managed to work as a volunteer fireman and earned several awards. He served proudly in the Army National Guard.
Ray came to The Villages in 2005. Ray loved dancing and cruising. He loved taking pictures, playing Mexican train, playing card games and golfing.
His ashes will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with family in The Gate of Heaven Cemetery in New York. Rest in Peace.
