I never thought I would see the day that Marsha Shearer came out in support of President Donald Trump. Today is that day! I want to thank you for the suggestion and support you gave in your Letter to the Editor in Friday’s edition of Villages-News.com for President Trump.
I have read most of your vitriolic, idiotic and disgusting accusations about President Trump. Nothing the man can do would ever appease your hatred for him, that is obvious. But don’t you think at some point, after more than ten years of you and your ilk screaming abuse and accusations at him that eventually you would look at just some of what you said and maybe, just maybe, regret having said it.
I think you believe President Donald Trump is the devil incarnate!
Nothing is farther from the truth. He has been falsely attacked and accused by you and your comrades since he first indicated he was running for President back in 2015.
They impeached him twice!
Now you have totally lost any sense of civility. You really need some help!
During his first term he was hounded by accusations of being a Russian asset. Special prosecutors were appointed to “investigate” him. It was proved beyond any doubt that the accusations were false and that certain elements of our government, at the highest levels, conspired to take him down, ruin his reputation and family business, attack his children and even his wife, who had absolutely no involvement in any of these issues. They put members of his staff in jail and concocted false statements and actions he never took on January 6, 2021. Then they jailed many innocent citizens for simply being in Washington D.C.
If COVID never happened, we would have seen the most effective growth in U.S. history in 2020.
When he left office, the attacks continued. No other man could have withstood the ignorant attacks he had to bear. State and local, Democrat prosecutors, went after him with a vigor I have never seen. The FBI raided his home over his right to keep documents – yes documents. All the while ignoring all of the criminal acts used against him and those committed by Democrats.
Now he is back and taking action. The many positive things he has done will help us recover from the open borders calamity that was he Biden legacy, the inflation caused by dolling out billions and trillions to Biden’s fantasies and the 36 trillion in debt Biden left behind.
There are so many positive things he has already done in seven months I cannot list them all. He has common sense and dedication to our country like no other President has in recent history. You don’t like his style – so what!
The economy is on the verge of exploding into so much good that we truly will be tired of winning.
Yet, today, Marsha Shearer asks, why doesn’t he stop gun violence. Are you kidding me! We are a free nation that remains free and unable to be invaded because we have the right to arm and protect ourselves from the Government! Yes, people die every year from gun violence due to gangs, drugs, and many due to mental health issues which go untreated. It was Democrats that closed all of the state farms and institutions that used to deal with the mentally ill and criminals who now live on the streets of America.
We ignore mental health issues on the basis that you cannot institutionalize anyone against their will but that will have to change in order to solve this problem. That will take guts!
Well guess what, somebody has to do it. Parents ignore it or fail to report it. Schools ignore deviant behavior. Police arrest criminals only to have them immediately released back onto the streets.
If you think President Donald Trump could stop mentally ill people from shooting people, why didn’t you ever attack Barack Obama or Joe Biden in the same way. They could and did sign Executive Orders. Why didn’t they do it, because this is what you are all about – a one-way argument that Trump should or could do something no other President has been able to do. Not Congress, not state or local authorities, not Mayors or Governors. But Trump should just sign a document and it will all go away.
Boy, are you ignorant! The issue of guns, what kind of guns, who can own guns etc. has been with us for 250 years. It is a foundation of our Constitution. America has struggled with this issue for one primary reason, the right to keep and bear arms is what makes us independent and free. No government, domestic or foreign will ever occupy the United States of America. And, they would if they could, but they cannot because we have chosen the right to defend ourselves, yes with guns.
How we choose to restrict gun ownership is a valid issue. Certainly, veterans like myself, police officers and first responders and victims of gun violence understand the damage guns can have. But until our government, on all levels starts to enforce red flag laws, that already exist to address potential threats, and stop releasing repeat offenders back to our streets nothing will work. Gun violence is a mental illness issue, period. Sain people do not shoot other people. Many of us have owned guns our entire lives. We would never think to shoot another person.
Mentally ill people shoot people indiscriminately.
With all of that said, I never thought that I would read an article where you give President Trump so much credit. Just think of what you wrote. He could stop all gun violence by signing an Executive Order! If that were true, if passing any law actually resulted in an intended solution, we would have no crime, because we have laws on the books now for every conceivable crime you can dream up, yet we still have crime.
The truth is laws do nothing. Laws are mere suggestions for behavior with punishments listed if you don’t comply. Literally we should have no speeding on our streets because we have laws against it! This is ridiculous and ignorant. Anybody who thinks passing a law solves anything is uninformed – it takes action and enforcement. Somebody will actually have to do something and not talk about doing it.
Until and unless we address mental illness and appropriate treatment for the many children and adults in our country who need help, there will be no stopping gun violence.
Marsha is right about one thing, it must stop, and I am pleased that she has the confidence now to believe that President Trump is the one person who might make that happen.
Thank you, Marsha, for finally demonstrating confidence in President Trump that he can solve the problem. That is exactly what is necessary from all of us. It will require some form of intervention which even you must support. Can you do that, because you and the Democrats will have to help?
Signing and Executive Order will not work because it is temporary. However, if anyone can find a solution to gun violence it would be President Trump! When he does, Marsha, I am certain you will, once again, give him the credit and support he deserves just as you did today!
I know I will!
