June Smith Masterman Strigle, 91, passed away August 14, 2025, surrounded by her husband, daughter, and best friend Melanie.
June was born in Wilton, Maine on July 1, 1934 to Bill and Ilene Smith. June and her first husband, Everett L. Masterman, Jr. lived in Massachusetts, New York (2), Illinois (2), California, Nebraska, Ft. Walton Beach, FL Morocco, Bermuda, and Okinawa while Everett served in the USAF. June loved to share stories about her trips to England and Germany visiting her daughter.
June moved to The Villages, FL after visiting her sister and brother-in-law. While dancing she met her husband, Jerry Strigle and they enjoyed 22 wonderful years together. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, yoga, dancing in the squares, painting, and playing cards with family and friends. June was a passionate animal lover and could never walk past a dog without talking to it and the owners.
June is survived by her husband, Jerry, her son Mark Masterman (Deanna) of Casa Grande, AZ, her daughter Michelle Morris of The Villages, FL her grandchildren Nicole Morris (James), Christopher Morris (Ellen), Danielle Jacque (Jared), Matthew Masterman, Breia Masterman, step granddaughter Jenna Barker (James), 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Shirley Lothrop, and Beverly Franchetti, and her son-in-law Denis P. Morris.
