Johnny Howard Stiles, 79, of Webster, Florida, passed away on August 30, 2025. Born on October 12, 1946, in Alabama, Johnny later moved to Ocoee, where he proudly played on the high school football team.
After graduation, Johnny served his country in the United States Air Force with honor and dedication. Following his military service, he continued a life of service to others as a firefighter, protecting his community with courage and commitment. In Ocoee, he met the love of his life, Dawn Sue Main. They were married for 58 wonderful years, raising three children together and enjoying seven grandchildren, who were his greatest pride and joy. Though Sue passed before him, their love and devotion remain a lasting example for their family. Johnny was known as a true “man’s man”-strong, steady, and dependable, yet with a heart full of love for those he cared about.
He was also known for his generosity; Johnny never hesitated to lend a hand or share what he had with others. He had a lifelong passion for cooking and baking, delighting family and friends with his meals and treats. He also loved football, especially cheering on his Florida Gators, and shared his love of baseball as a coach for Cubs Little League, restored classic cars, fished, and watched classic movies starring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, reflecting his rugged and spirited nature. More than anything, he cherished time with his family, who will remember him for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love.
He is survived by his children: Scott Stiles, Kerri Johnson, and Stephanie Rushing; and his beloved grandchildren: Regan Johnson, Christian Stiles, Kadin Johnson, Sarah Rushing, Kael Rushing, Levi Rushing, and Sadie Rushing. Johnny will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, strength, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A service to honor Johnny’s life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Purcell Chapel from 9am-10am with the service to follow at 10am.
