A Summerfield man has been arrested on a warrant charging him with throwing a stone through a window at the residence of his child’s mother.
A deputy responded to a verbal disturbance at a Summerfield residence in August, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The victim advised that 32-year-old Brandon Ross Garinger, the father of her child, threw a brick through her living room window.
She explained he unexpectedly showed up at her residence, where he had not lived for two months after moving out. He asked to use the shower, and she said no. She then closed her front door and told him to leave, the report said.
The victim was inside her residence when she heard breaking glass. She saw a greyish landscaping stone go through her living room window and shatter the glass. She did not see Garinger throw the landscaping stone, but she did see him walk away from the broken window. This statement was corroborated by a witness who was in the living room at the time of the incident, the report said.
During the investigation, the deputy saw the bottom half of the window closest to the front door shattered. About half of the window was broken by the impact of the stone which was on a brown couch directly in front of the window. The stone was about 12 inches long, 4 inches wide and weighed 5 pounds. The victim advised that the damage would cost $140 to fix, the report said.
Garinger was ultimately arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with weapon offense (missile into dwelling, vehicle, building or aircraft). He was transported to Marion County Jail to be held without bond.
