Pauline Zanda Sawdey passed away on September 17, 2025, in Lady Lake, FL. Born in Buffalo, NY, on July 12, 1933, Ms. Sawdey attended Grover Cleveland High School and, following her graduation, married Philip J. Rollain. They were blessed with two children, Pauline and Michele.
She was predeceased by her parents, Angelo and Josephine Zanda, as well as her brother, Severio. She is survived by her sister Francis Tuzzo and her daughters, Pauline Roth and Michele Allen (Russ), her grandchildren Thomas Richard Roth III (Lisa), Joseph Roth (Emmi), Megan Allen, Sara Hamlett (Steven), and great-grandchildren James Hamlett and Leroy Hamlett.
Ms. Sawdey held various administrative positions as a secretary and receptionist, most notably at H&R Block, where she spent the greater part of her career. Her hobbies included playing cards, bingo, socializing, and engaging in meaningful conversation. She was involved in the Girl Scouts both as a participant in her youth and later as a leader.
A committed member of her Catholic community, Ms. Sawdey attended mass regularly and contributed to organizations such as the Legion of Mary, serving as a communion minister during adulthood. At Buffalo Crossing Assisted Living, she established and led weekly Rosary sessions for residents. Additionally, she was an active member of American Legion #52, alongside her late husband, Wayne Sawdey.
