Joseph was born in New York City on January 31st, 1949. He lived in Brooklyn with his family until they moved to Baldwin, New York. Joseph served our country in the U.S. Air Force receiving an honorable discharge in 1973.
He then worked for the U.S Postal Service as a mail carrier until retiring.
He is predeceased by parents Emil and Catherine Hoefler and brothers Emil and John (Mary).
He is survived by sister Kathleen Ambert (Joel), brother Francis, nephews John (Jaime) and Brian Hoefler, Kevin Ambert (Megan) and grandnephew Patrick Ambert.
