A Wildwood man was arrested for battery after allegedly shoving a woman into a vehicle to take her money and keys.
A deputy responded to a physical disturbance involving 45-year-old Aaaron Joseph Taylor at an undisclosed Wildwood residence around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the female victim who initially stated there had not been a disturbance at the residence. She later admitted Taylor chased her around a car because she would not give him the cash she had. She got into the vehicle to leave, but he would not let her, the report said.
Taylor instead got on top of her in the vehicle and forcibly took the keys. He also tried to get the money from her. She added he had been physical with her numerous times but refused to answer any more questions, the report said.
The deputy noticed a 2-inch scratch on her chest while talking to her, and she stated she did not remember how she got it. The report noted that two hours before this call, the victim contacted dispatch to say she had been hit with a bottle. When deputies asked her about it, she refused to elaborate, the report said.
Taylor later advised that he was going to take a shower when the victim took his shorts and went outside. He followed her as she got into the passenger seat of the vehicle, and they started tugging at the shorts. He stated they did not hit each other, only pointing to a finger on his right hand with blood on it when asked if anything physical happened, the report said.
The complainant, a neighbor, explained she was outside and heard yelling coming from a nearby residence. She went to the side of her yard to see Taylor and the victim outside yelling at each other and running around a vehicle parked in the driveway. He then shoved the victim into the backseat, the report said.
When Taylor noticed the neighbor, both he and the victim went back inside. The neighbor was on the phone with dispatch when they came outside again, continued screaming at each other and Taylor continued pushing the victim, the report said.
Taylor was determined to be the primary aggressor and arrested on charge of battery (prior conviction). He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center to be held without bond.
He was also arrested in August for violating his probation, and he was jailed on a $15,000 bond in April 2015 for several Lake County warrants.
