A suspect has been tracked down after allegedly attempting to steal a generator at Home Depot.
Adora Stanley Strawser, 67, of Summerfield, was arrested this past week on a warrant charging her with grand theft.
Strawser was at a Home Depot store in Ocala on Sept. 11, 2023 when she asked an employee to help her load a 6250W Champion generator onto a cart, according to an arrest report from the Ocala Police Department. Once she had the generator loaded, Strawser left the store without paying for it. A loss prevention agent stopped Strawser and asked her to return inside.
“No,” she told him.

The store was using Clear View AI which uses facial recognition. The surveillance images were used to positively identify Strawser, who has four previous theft convictions. A warrant was issued for her arrest.
She was picked up this past week in Sumter County and transferred to the Marion County Jail where her bond was set at $10,000.
