
Jeffrey R. Madsen, 81, of The Villages, FL., went home to the Lord surrounded by his family on October 4, 2025 after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
Jeff was born in Kenmare, ND, the son of Lucille and Percy Madsen. The family moved to Jamestown, ND where he attended schools and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1962.
Jeff entered the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated in June of 1967. While a plebe (freshman), he attended the Army-Pitt football game in Pittsburgh, PA. where he met his future wife Sandra Lando-Madsen. They married in November 1967.
While at West Point, Jeff served as Adjutant of the Brigade Command as a First Classman, was the editor of the Howitzer yearbook and graduated 80th of 580 cadets. Jeff served 13 months in Viet Nam first as Aide-de-camp to a General Officer and then as a company commander. He returned home safely and he, Sandi and their young son moved to Boulder, CO while Jeff studied and received his master degree in aerospace engineering from the University of CO. Their daughter was born there.
The family then moved to West Point and Jeff taught in the Dept. of Mechanics for four years.
Jeff resigned from the Army June 1976 to accept a position with Proctor & Gamble in Cheboygan, MI.
Jeff worked as a manufacturing manager for Johnson & Johnson Bristol, Connecticut, was Vice President of Manufacturing at Hamilton Industries, Manitowoc, WI and retired as a Director for The Toro Company in Bloomington, MN.
Jeff and Sandi moved to The Villages in May 2011 where Jeff worked part-time as a rec attendant at Seabreeze Recreation Center. Jeff discovered water volleyball having previously given up golf and became the head of social water volleyball at Seabreeze.
Jeff was previously deceased by his Parents and sister, Jude Ceroli.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra Madsen, his son Jeffrey (Chiharu) of Japan, his daughter Tina Rezach (Danny) of Wisconsin, five grandchildren, four greatchildren, his precious dog, Emmie, and his sister Debora Madsen of Manhattan, KS.
