Marilyn Patricia Turner, who lives in the Hydrangea Villas in the Village of St. Charles, was at the store at about 4 p.m. Wednesday when a loss prevention officer spotted the Kansas native in the crafts aisle, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Turner appeared to be suspiciously stuffing merchandise into shopping bags. She headed for the Christmas aisle, where she lingered for a bit. She then left the store with “no attempt to stop at the register and pay for the items,” the report said.

She was escorted to the loss prevention office where she was found to have 97 items worth $563.

A deputy arrived at the store and discovered that Turner is already on felony probation.

On July 4, 2024, Turner fled the same Walmart in her Mercedes SUV with more than $300 in stolen merchandise.

She was also convicted of theft in 2017 and 2018.

Because she is already on probation, she was booked without bond at the Sumter County Detention Center.
