An unlicensed driver from Mexico was arrested after he was caught traveling at 86 miles per hour.

A deputy spotted 31-year-old Jose Almanza Escamilla speeding southbound on State Road 471 in Webster around 7 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Radar confirmed he was traveling at 86 mph in a 60-mph zone.

After stopping him, the deputy asked Almanza Escamilla for his license. Almanza Escamilla stated he did not have a license, nor had he ever been issued one. He instead handed over a Mexico passport, which was used to confirm he had never been given a license, the report said. 

Almanza Escamilla was arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $150 bond.
