Doreen Nigri Kibbe passed away on 9/27/2025 after a 2 1/2 year battle with breast cancer that she fought valiantly.
She moved to Cotati with her mother Suzanne and sister Jill at the age of 13 and lived in Sonoma County until 2023. She moved to Florida with her husband Jay Kibbe to live in the same town with her mother and sister who had moved to Florida in recent years.
She worked at Fireman’s Fund in Novato for approximately 30 years and spent the last 5 years of her working life at Redwood Credit Union as a project manager. She met many people at both companies that would become lifelong friends and travel companions. Doreen was kind and fair and loved by all who knew her. She was a light in the world that will be missed.
A celebration of Doreen’s life will be held on November 8, at Sally Tomatoes in Rohnert Park that is open to friends and family.
She is survived by her husband Jay Kibbe, mother Suzanne Van De Velde, father in law Dave Van De Velde, sisters Jill Bhachu and Suzy Pabon and several nephews, nieces and grandchildren that she adored.
