An intoxicated Villager was arrested after placing multiple calls to 911.
Sheldon Scott Engstrom, 62, was arrested Tuesday night at his home in the Village of Hammock at Fenney.

He placed a call to 911 claiming that his ex-wife was armed with a firearm and at his home at 3813 Zentko St., according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. He then backtracked and said his wife was not at his home. He admitted he did not have an emergency. The dispatcher advised Engstrom, who was arrested in a 2023 golf cart road rage incident, to reserve use of 911 for an emergency. She also advised Engstrom that he could use the non-emergency number and an officer could be sent to his home.
This apparently enraged him, prompting him to use profane language.
“You goddamn women are all the same,” he told the dispatcher.
Shortly thereafter, Engstrom dialed 911 for a second time. He wanted to know where the police were, but then hung up.
In a third call to 911, he told the dispatcher he wanted his ex-wife trespassed from his home.
Officers were sent to Engstrom’s home and found him “swaying back and forth” and spotted a large bottle of Fireball Cinnamon Whisky and a pill bottle on his kitchen counter. He ordered the officers to do their jobs and began yelling at them. He again used profane language and told the officers to leave.
The officers were still outside Engstrom’s home when they learned he had dialed 911 for a fourth time. He cursed at the dispatcher and then claimed she wouldn’t do her job, “Because she is a female.”
Engstrom was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
Engstom was placed on probation after the previous golf cart road rage incident. Engstrom violated his probation when he was arrested in 2024 on a charge of driving under the influence.
