William Joseph Roberts, 67 of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025 at the Cornerstone Hospice after a lengthy battle with cancer. “Bill” was born March 28, 1958 in Monroe, Michigan. He had recently moved from Louisville, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy J. and Ignace A. Roberts, his son Justin Roberts, sister Katherine McNamara, brother Ignace M Roberts and nephew Joseph Webb Jr.. He is survived by his 3 sons, Jason Roberts and Joseph Roberts of Peoria, Arizona and Joshua Roberts of Toledo, Ohio. Siblings Rose Shearin of the Villages, FL, Mary Goins (David) of Monroe, MI, Rita Reuter (Bob) of Eustis, FL, Christine Webb (Joe) of Tazewell, TN and Rebecca McCollum (John) of Lasalle, MI and brother John Roberts (Cindy) of Leesburg, Fl. sister in law Janice Roberts of Lady Lake, FL and brother in law Todd McNamara of Spokane, WA. As well as many nieces and nephews and friends from Louisville, KY.
Bill attended Monroe High School, Monroe, MI. After high school, Bill served his country during the Vietnam era. He was a PFC in the US Army from 1976-1979. After his army service he started his family and lived in Toledo, Ohio working in a cosmetic company as plant manager and Jeep Corporation for many years. After his children were grown, he moved to Louisville, KY where he worked for the Kroger Company.
He will be remembered by his infectious laugh and sense of humor and his care for his mother during her last years. He enjoyed fishing with his brothers, playing cards and going to the casino on occasion. And foremost, he loved his sons more than life itself.
Burial of his cremated remains will take place on Thursday November 13, 2025 at 11:00 am at Florida National Cemetery with military honors. A Celebration of life will take place following the burial.
