Audrey D. Ranzan, 91, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025, in her apartment at The Willows, a senior community located in Sumter County, FL, where she had been a resident since March 2025.
She was born to the late Christian U. and Florence E. (née Starrett) Meier on August 11, 1934, in Jersey City, NJ. A graduate of St. Michael’s High School in Jersey City, she married William T. Ranzan, Jr., in 1957. In 1961, the family moved to Towaco, New Jersey, then to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, in 1972, and eventually to The Villages in 1997.
Audrey was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Wildwood, FL. An avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, she will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother, for her sense of humor and for the annual Christmas parties she and Bill hosted at their home in Pennsylvania and Florida. No matter where she lived, she always managed to make her home and driveway a welcoming haven for her family, neighbors, and friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 64 years, in 2021 and her son, Mark, in 2022.
She is survived by four children: Cynthia, Douglas, David (Kelly), and Paul (Coleen), as well as seven grandchildren: Ryan (Madi), Stephanie (Joey), Hannah, Gregory, Trevor, Eric, and Ashley. She led a long and fulfilling life and was deeply cherished by all who knew her. She will surely be missed by her family and friends.
She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at The Willows, the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association, and Cornerstone Hospice for their support and care during her final months.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Audrey’s name to Cornerstone Hospice (https://cornerstonehospice.org/) or a charity of your choice.
