A man was arrested after allegedly pulling a knife on a Wendy’s manager, threatening to kill her and her family.

An employee of Wendy’s, located at 11639 Will O Dell Ave., Oxford, parked outside the restaurant for work only to find 35-year-old Michael Paul Borski of Inverness already in the parking lot at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

He began talking to her through the window of her vehicle, so she called a manager to notify her of Borski’s presence. She waited for another employee to open the door to let her in, and Borski followed her inside to sit down. He then asked the manager to use her cellphone, and when she walked away, he started “going off,” the report said.

The manager heard Borski “getting loud” from the back of the restaurant and came back to the front to tell him he had to wear shoes inside and that there was no loitering allowed. She also told him to leave, to which he called her “fat,” cursed at her, spat on her and threatened to kill her. His “belligerent” behavior prompted her to instruct the employee to call the police, escalating the situation, the report said.

Borski approached the counter with the manager on the other side and swung his arm toward her. He did not make contact, but decided to step back and spit on her face instead. She did not see when he pulled a fixed-blade knife from his pants due to the cash register between them, so the employee handed her a pair of scissors to defend herself, the report said.

The employee herself grabbed a nearby mop handle for protection while Borski threatened to kill the manager and her family. The manager called law enforcement, and he spit on her a second time before coming toward her again. She was scared and thought the altercation was going to get worse until the first officer arrived on scene. Borski fled the restaurant and headed outside at the sight of law enforcement, the report said.

The officer subsequently detained Borski in handcuffs and searched him for weapons. This yielded a pocketknife and the fixed-blade knife from the altercation, the report said.

Borski started making comments during this time, including about the manager pulling a pair of scissors on him. He claimed the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office was after him, and they dropped him in Sumter County. He claimed the manager was related to a captain with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, and she followed him over there, the report said.

Borski was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, armed trespassing and battery. He was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center without bond and a hold from Citrus County.
