The home of a dead Villager has become an eyesore in the neighborhood.
The home located at 1715 Madero Drive in the Village of Santo Domingo was the subject of a deed compliance hearing this past week before the Community Development District 2 Board of Supervisors at Savannah Center.
A complaint was received Sept. 29 by Community Standards about overgrown grass at the home.

The home was purchased in 1998 for $131,700 by Donald and Armella Bilodeau. She died in 2010 at age 74. Donald Bilodeau died in January of this year at age 92 and the Korean War veteran was laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
After the complaint was lodged, Community Standards began trying to find the party responsible for maintaining the property. Community Standards located MCS, a property preservation company, which reported receiving a stop work order for the property in October and had no further information, according to testimony presented at the public hearing. Community Standards reached out to three other banks, but had no luck determining whether the property was listed in their inventories.
The board granted the homeowner seven days to bring the property into compliance. If it is not brought into compliance, the District will maintain the property at $250 per each occurrence.
