A Villager will not be prosecuted in a battle with a woman over a vodka bottle.
It has been announced by the prosecutor’s office that 60-year-old Michael David Pion, who lives in the Katherine Villas in the Village of Caroline, will not be prosecuted in connection with his arrest in October. Last month, it appeared Pion and the woman had reconciled as they had asked the court to modify a “no contact” order between them.
When deputies arrived at the couple’s home on Oct. 24, an intoxicated woman claimed that Pion had kicked her in the rib cage. She had suffered a laceration to her bottom lip and contusions on her left eye and cheek. She was transported by ambulance to UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital in The Villages. The arrest report did not disclose the nature of the relationship between Pion and the woman.
When she was interviewed at the hospital, the woman told deputies that Pion was pouring a bottle of vodka down a sink drain and she grabbed the bottle to try to make him stop. The Rhode Island native responded by twisted the woman’s wrist. She claimed he threw her against a wall, causing her to fall to the ground. When she was on the ground, he kicked her in the rib cage and punched her in the face, according to the report. She crawled on the floor and attempted to call 911, but Pion took her phone and slammed it on the floor, causing it to break.
Inside the residence, deputies found the shattered phone, a broken vodka bottle, a beer can with dents and a small indentation in the kitchen wall.
