A Villager who was in a crosswalk hit her head on a curb after she was knocked to the ground by a car making a turn.

The 77-year-old woman who lives in the Hyde Park section of the Village of Charlotte stepped into the crosswalk at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on Oracle Court at Hillsborough Trail in the Village of Dunedin, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. She had been walking on the sidewalk prior to stepping into the crosswalk.

A 75-year-old Village of Dunedin man driving a white 2019 Honda CRV utility vehicle was making a right turn from Hillsborough Trail onto Oracle Court when his passenger side mirror struck the woman, resulting in her falling to the ground and striking her head on the curb.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Honda CRV was not injured and remained at the scene.
