A woman with unpaid traffic tickets was caught driving on a suspended license.

A deputy saw a gray GMC Acadia heading east on County Road 470 at 8:45 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. A check of the tag revealed the registered owner, 31-year-old Tiffany Marie Chase of Brooksville, had a suspended license for two unpaid traffic citations as of Nov. 3, 2025, out of Hillsborough County.

Knowing this, the deputy stopped the vehicle in the grass on County Road 470 and County Road 529A. He explained the reason for the traffic stop, and she handed over her license. He reiterated it was suspended, to which she immediately stated she had taken care of it. She then claimed she did not know it was suspended, the report said.

Chase was ultimately arrested for driving while license suspended and transported to the Sumter County Detention Center. The North Carolina native was released after posting $500 bond.
