A Villager who escaped prosecution in an attack on her husband last year has been arrested again.
Delores Kelley Dennis, 76, of the Village of Virginia Trace, was being held without bond following her arrest on felony charges of aggravated battery, battery and resisting arrest.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies responded Saturday afternoon to the home of Dennis and her husband after a 911 hangup call, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Dennis’ husband came to the door, but Dennis lunged at him while he was speaking to the deputy. The deputy had to separate Dennis and her husband.
The deputy tried to handcuff Dennis, but the Georgia native struck the deputy on his forearm. She continued to pull away, but the deputy was able to handcuff her and put her into the back of squad car.
Dennis had been arrested this past August after attacking her husband with an umbrella. However, the prosecutor’s office opted not to proceed with that case. At the time of the first arrest, Dennis told deputies her husband was a “bastard.”
