
Ethel Elizabeth Sullivan, 90, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home January 16, 2026.
She was born on January 1, 1936 in Salem, Massachusetts: the daughter of Hector and Evelyn (Howard) Raymond. She was married on November 11, 1954 in Salem, to her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, John Francis Sullivan, who preceded her in death in July 2022.
Ethel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who devoted her life to supporting John’s military and civil service career, moving many times across the country until 1994 when they located in The Villages to enjoy each other and retirement. Ethel enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, bowling, golfing and traveling.
Ethel is survived by her loving children: Donna Marie (Sullivan) Anderson of Grain Valley, MO, Michael James Sullivan of Kansas City, MO, Karen Sullivan Losin and husband Dan of Citrus Hills, FL, and Mark John Sullivan and wife Deneal of The Villages, FL; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends who will miss her dearly. Along with her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Patricia Chouinard, Joanne Birmingham and Roseanne Dassuk; and two brothers: Peter Raymond and David Raymond.
The family thanks Cornerstone Hospice for the compassionate care they provided in her home during the last few months of her life. Her funeral arrangements are being handled by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, www.hiers-baxley.com. She will be interred with her husband, John, at Florida National Cemetery, and her celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
