An unlicensed teen from Mexico was arrested for driving without a license after being stopped for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle.
A deputy saw a blue Kia Sedona fail to yield to another deputy actively on a traffic stop on State Road 44 in Wildwood around 7:10 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The driver, 18-year-old Carlos Daniel Colin Paino, did not switch lanes or slow down to 20 mph below the speed limit.

Due to this, the deputy stopped the vehicle near County Road 219 and asked Colin Paino for his license. He did not have one nor had he ever. He was not a United States citizen and had never been issued a license, the report said.
Colin Paino was subsequently arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. The native of Mexico was transported to the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
