Stacey Wrightam, Wildwood Police Department administrator and records custodian, was honored Monday as the department’s 2025 Employee of the Year.

Police Chief Randy Parmer presented a plaque to her at a City Commission meeting. She also was honored by the American Legion.

“She’s the straw that stirs the drink,” Parmer said of Wrightam. “Without her, it would be difficult to operate at the level we do.”

From her desk near the chief’s office, Parmer said she handles a long list of tasks including payroll, billing, hiring, recruitment, records and public records requests.

Wrightam joined a much smaller Wildwood department in 2009.

“As we have grown over the last several years, so have my responsibilities,” she said. “I am thankful for the trust the command staff has for me and I have pride in the agency and the work that I do.”

She grew up in Leesburg, where her family was involved in law enforcement. Her mother worked in the Lake County Jail and as a dispatcher before a 30-year career with the state. Her grandfather, Buck Wrightam, worked for the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and her stepfather, Hal Reeves, retired after 30 years with the Leesburg Police Department.

She has an associate’s degree in business management, rarely takes vacations and said she considers her coworkers “my extended family.”

Repeatedly throughout the day, Parmer said he hears officers at Stacey’s desk, beginning a conversation with “Stacey, could you…”
