Randy Fine is calling for penalties for Bad Bunny for the use of profanity on television. However, Bad Bunny did not actually use profanity during the Super Bowl performance. Snopes broke down the lyrics and found that while Bad Bunny often uses profanity in his lyrics, during the Super Bowl performance he mumbled, switched out words or simply went silent when a line called for profanity. Additionally, the 2022 Super Bowl half-time show featured several rappers who used profanity and racial slurs throughout the performance. I do not recall that Mr. Fine objected to that.
As a lifelong Republican, I am worried about congressmen who blindly repeat what the Republican Party tells them to say, without first becoming informed and checking the facts. I am also concerned that our government is targeting certain sectors of our population and criticizing or sanctioning them for behaviors tolerated in the rest of us.
