
It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara Harvey-Brown (age 77) of the Villages, FL announces her passing on Sunday January 25, 2026.
Bobbie was born and raised in Pasadena, MD. She practically grew up in her parents’ drycleaning and laundromat business, which she later took over and ran until she moved to The Villages. She was an active member of The International Fabricare Institute, an international association for professional dry cleaners,and she was proud to serve as their 1st ever female President.
She met Roy Brown on a blind date on April 1, 2006, and 5 years later married him on the same date. They moved from Maryland to The Villages in 2014, where they built a very active social life which included golf, entertaining, traveling, trivia, dancing & music, and more. She loved spending time with friends and family. Bobbie was a very proud Maryland native with seafood being one of her favorite foods, especially crabs.
Bobbie was the mother of 2 amazing sons and 2 grandsons whom she loved very much. Her other love was her little Dachshund Tootsie.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband Roy H. Brown of The Villages, FL; her grandson Nicolas (Amber) Harvey of Davenport, OK; daughter-in-law Mette Haavik of Mount Airy, MD; two stepsons John (Sherri) Brown of Orlando, FL and Roy (Ada) Brown of Baltimore, MD; and, not to mention, the many friends close enough to be considered family. She was preceded in death by her sons John and Christopher, grandson Matthew and sister Fran.
A memorial service in memory of Bobbie will be held on Saturday March 7 at 11 a.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home at 3975 Wedgewood Lane, The Villages, FL 32162. Followed by a light reception at the same location.
