Norma Cecelia Scarbrough McCarthy, was born in Toledo, Ohio, on July 5, 1941, and passed away on February 15, 2026, in The Villages, FL, after a somewhat brief illness.
Mickey is survived by her husband, Fred Scarbrough; son, Robert (Jennifer) Leupp; grandsons, Maxwell (Kelly) and Connor Leupp; 2 great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Liam Leupp; sister, Penny (Mike) Dannenberg; brother, Dennis McCarthy; and many nieces and nephews.
Mickey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan Strance; and son, Scott Strance; and brother, Bob McCarthy.
Mickey graduated from Libbey high school in 1959, and her passion was being a florist and interior decorator.
We would like to thank Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, FL, and the staff for all their wonderful care.
She was kind and generous to all. She was loved by her family and will be terribly missed.
Services will be private at a later date.
