
James Sandefer, age 89, of Kalamazoo, Michigan. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and “Bumpa”, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026 with his family by his side and is now resting in the arms of His Lord.
Born in Dresden, TN on September 15, 1936, Jim lived most of his life in the Lansing area where he worked for the John Henry Company for 47 years. He was an avid car guy, loved vacationing on Lake Michigan, and enjoyed playing golf whenever he had the opportunity. After retirement he and wife Rosemary moved to The Villages, FL where they made many new friends and enjoyed retirement.
Jim is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rosemary Jandron Sandefer; children: Lori L. Hulyk (John), Kelly K. Sandefer (Jonathan), Tom Hamilton (Karol), Lori J. Simonton (Bret) and Lynn Hanson (Eric); 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two children; Troy Hamilton and Christianne Hamilton Bryant.
