A rolling golf cart caravan will take place to encourage residents south of State Road 44 in The Villages to join in a No Kings protest rally later in the month.
“Many residents south of 44 have told us that they would like a protest closer to where they live. At the same time, we often hear that people don’t know about our events, despite our best efforts to advertise them. We hope the rolling golf cart caravan and sign-holding events will address both of those concerns,” said LaRae Donnellan, chair of the Rally Committee of the Democratic Club of The Villages.
The golf cart caravan will take place at various times and locations on Saturday, March 21.
The No Kings protest rally will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28 at Warm Springs Avenue and Marsh Bend Trail near the Everglades Recreation Center. Central Florida Tri-County Indivisible and Sumter County Democrats will also be taking part in the rally at the southern end of The Villages.
Villagers 4 Democracy will be hosting a No Kings rally on the north side of The Villages, at Morse Boulevard near Lake Sumter Landing) on Saturday, March 28.
Thousands of people have protested at previous No Kings events in The Villages.
