Two men living in The Villages were arrested after a woman was transported to a local hospital after an alleged attack.
Paul Linney, 60, and James Emmet Pietro, 62, who both live at 210 Desota Court in the Village of La Zamora, are facing felony charges of battery on a person over the age of 65.

Pietro and the 79-year-old woman were renting a room in Linney’s home, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. They got into an argument and the woman tried to leave their rented room, but Pietro grabbed her by the ankle and dragged her back into the room.
Linney became “enraged by the disturbance” and began yelling at the woman, ordering her to leave. She tried to leave, but became wedged between a wooden door and a glass storm door. Linney began pressing at the door “with all of his weight.”
She went to the Lady Lake Police Department on Friday. While she was reporting the incident which had happened two days earlier, she complained of dizziness and nausea. Officers called for an ambulance and she was transported to a local hospital. The woman had suffered a concussion, bruising on her arms and an injury to her ankle.
When Linney and Pietro were taken into custody, they claimed the woman was “crazy” and had been “drunk” at the time of the incident. Both men were booked at the Lake County Jail. Linney was released after posting $10,000 bond and Pietro was released after posting $5,000 bond.
