We need to carefully weigh the pros and cons of the gates

To the Editor:

Like all decisions, there are pros and cons when it comes to the gates in The Villages.  For the people claiming that it is costly, one question to answer is, what percentage reduction in the amenity fee would occur if the gate attendants were removed? Perhaps one finds that it really is not a large percentage of the amenity fee, and that might alter negative perception of the gate keepers?
