To the Editor:
The gates are valuable because they:
1) Help to SLOW down cars by pausing them and serving to remind the drivers that they are in residential areas.
2) Help in making it MUCH safer for carts and pedestrians to cross roads between multi-mobile pathways.
3) Help in identifying vehicles involved in problem events with the assistance of their cameras.
4) If manned, help visitors with directions, as well as providing a friendly welcome.
They are well worth it.
