Lala – Angelo Peter, age 93, of The Villages, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, at Casa Mariposa Cornerstone Hospice.
Born on August 4, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, Angelo was the beloved son of Concetta and Giuseppe Lala. He grew up on Staten Island, NY, and graduated from New York University with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and received an MBA at Long Island University. He served in the United States Army Reserves for 30 years and achieved the rank of Colonel. Al spent his career in the telecommunications industry, culminating as the Warranty Manager at AT&T Headquarters in New York.
He is survived by his children, Catherine Lala (Victor McGregor), Joseph Lala (Janet), Robert Lala (Angie), and Ann Marie Lala; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Mary Ann; and his second wife of 17 years, Karen Ann Savoldi.
He is remembered for his uncanny ability to calculate math without the use of a calculator, love of life, compassion for dogs, golfing, sailing, international travel, and family vacations.
A celebration of his life will be held on April 9, 2026, 9:45am at Saint Patrick’s Church, located at 400 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743. Burial immediately following service at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, NY 11933.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and encouraged all of us to achieve our dreams. We are forever grateful for the gift of having called him dad, grandpa, and friend.
