U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement put a hold on a non-citizen who was stopped with a suspended license.

A deputy stopped 24-year-old Jhovany Ricardo Suarez Avendano at U.S. 301 and West Clarke Street in Wildwood around 10:05 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. His vehicle, a silver 2010 Honda Civic, failed to stay in its lane. The report did not indicate Suarez Avendano’s country of origin, but the report indicated the deputy needed a translator to communicate with him.

A subsequent check of the license plate revealed Suarez Avendano had a suspended driver’s license. His criminal history revealed he had no prior convictions for driving with an invalid license, the report said.

Suarez Avendano was arrested on charge of driving while license suspended or revoked and issued a traffic warning for failing to maintain lane. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and will be turned over to ICE.
