The “Officials offer conflicting views on RPMs on multi-modal paths” article contains comments from CDD3 supervisors about an old engineering report. One of the comments was, “The report indicated that the RPMs could be dangerous for some users of the multi-modal paths, including bicyclists.” Note that the word “could” is used rather than “will.”
I am a retired engineer. If the RPMs are truly hazardous to some users, including bicyclists, I would expect a significant number of complaints to the CDD 5 Board of Supervisors, and I would also expect the major bicycling clubs in The Villages to be campaigning against the RPMs. Are there any Villages-News articles about accidents caused by the RPMs?
CDD supervisors, please stop giving excuses for not installing RPMs.
