To the Editor:

The gates are a waste of money. I live in a village that has a gate off of El Camino and an entrance off Morse Boulevard that has no gate. The only security is the cameras. The gate keeper, with all due respect, really doesn’t provide security. My experience throughout the villages, they either hold the stop sign as they raise the gate. In the resident lane you can just press the red button.

When I retired here, I was told it provides security. I have yet to see that.

While it offers numerous activities, what good is that if we don’t feel secure?

The only thing it does is provide people with something to do.

I do not think the Morse family is carrying out one of the original goals their grandfather had.

Are we getting too big that we are losing control?
