To the Editor:

While there is no doubt that drivers’ carelessness is the cause of most car/cart accidents, has there been any consideration to what is causing the carelessness? In some cases there may be contributing factors such as sun blindness causing carts to turn in front of oncoming cars. The cart drivers just don’t see oncoming traffic. There is debris in the golf cart lanes causing carts to swerve into car lanes. I’ve seen a lot of debris from landscaper trailers dropped in the paths. Cart drivers’ reaction time could be causing quick dangerous decisions. But the fact remains car traffic and cart traffic is too close for comfort or safety in the northern portion of Morse and traffic is moving too fast. I propose that the solution would be a “fly-over” bridge or bridges from the northern Morse Boulevard to County Road 466. Cart traffic would be completely off the road in this section. Expensive yes, absolutely. But it would fix the problem once and for all. So what do you think the development of Eastport is/ has cost? What’s the cost of the loss of so many loved ones?
