A man from Mexico was arrested for driving without a license after being pulled over for running a stop sign.
A deputy witnessed a maroon truck traveling east on East Belt Avenue in Bushnell cross into the intersection without coming to a complete stop behind the stop bar around 8:10 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. After being pulled over, 40-year-old David Hernandez Chavez stated he did not have a driver’s license.

He was trying to get one, but could only provide a Mexico ID card in the meantime. He had never been issued a license, the report said.
Hernandez Chavez was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle without a valid license. The native of Mexico was booked at the Sumter Countuy Detention Center and released after posting $500 bond.
