U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on a man from Mexico for driving with a license suspended for DUI.

An officer spotted 35-year-old Marcos Solano Martinez headed south on U.S. Hwy. 301 on Wednesday morning, according to a narrative report from the Wildwood Police Department. He was using a red Dodge Ram to tow a trailer with plants in the back despite having a suspended license.

After being stopped near the Village of Fenney, he admitted that he did not have a driver’s license. He instead handed over a Mexican driver’s license. A subsequent check of his driving history revealed his license had been suspended for DUI in 2021. He had also refused to submit to DUI testing, along with two non-judgement suspensions, the report said.

Solano Martinez was then arrested on charge of driving while license suspended for DUI. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center, where ICE put a hold on him.
