I am not running for re-election as I believe in term limits and have served two terms for a total of eight years representing Community Development 10 on the North Sumter County Utility Development District board.

Richard Rademacher

I am honored to have served as CDD 10’s representative, and currently the board chairman. I would encourage others to serve on the various CDD boards and especially to run for this position on the NSCUDD board so that Sumter County doesn’t need to appoint someone to replace me.

If interested, May 26 is the last day to submit paperwork to the Sumter County board of elections office.

Our total yearly NSCUDD budget is $ 83.320 million

NSU $34,420,000

CSU $31,403,000

SSF $17,497,000

Unlike other Villages CDD supervisors, our board members are paid $300 per board meeting.

It’s important that CDD 10 has a good representative to help reduce our water and trash pickup rates.

The water rates for CSU, all district 10 customers are over 30 percent higher than customers living in the NSU areas.

At the last board meeting, I suggested that the 3 percent increase recommended by staff for next year be reduced to 2 percent. The board voted for the staff recommended increase. NSU customers will have no increase in rates next year. Our trash pickup rates will increase 3.5 percent yearly for the next several years.

So, it’s important that we have a representative on this board to watch out for our interests.

As the district doesn’t advertise open election positions, I am trying to let people know about this open position to have them run.
