A Lady Lake woman was arrested for battery after allegedly striking her unfaithful husband during a child exchange outside her workplace.
The husband of 37-year-old Christiane Medeiros Machado sought an officer in the lobby of the Wildwood Police Department at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report. He had been in an intense verbal argument with his wife since the previous day, admitting that it stemmed from his infidelity.

He stated that at 7:30 a.m., he met with Machado in the parking lot of her place of employment, Select Specialty Hospital, 5050 County Road 472. As was their daily routine, he planned to drop off their 11-month-old child so he could go to work. He was putting the child into a car seat when he asked Machado if he could speak with her, the report said.
She refused and instead struck him on the forehead with her right elbow. This caused substantial bruising to that area. He then got out of the vehicle as she sped away from the scene, the report said.
Machado later agreed to speak with law enforcement at the police department. She explained that she had been frustrated with her husband due to his repeated infidelity. She worked the previous night and refused to talk to or see him until the morning exchange of their child, the report said. He asked her for a kiss, which she refused. She admitted that she struck him in the head with her elbow before driving away, the report said.
Machado was arrested on charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. The native of Brazil was released after posting $500 bond.
