Charles Arthur Hurst, 69, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at Cornerstone Hospice.
Born in Princeton, Indiana, Chuck proudly served four years in the United States Navy before continuing his career in civilian service with the Department of the Navy and later the Department of Defense.
Chuck never met a stranger. He loved helping people, was incredibly generous, and was known for his great stories and sense of humor. Those who knew him often said, “Everybody loves Chuck,” and it was true.
He was a lifelong sports fan who passionately followed Indiana Hoosiers men’s basketball, the Washington Redskins, and the St. Louis Cardinals, a team he began listening to on the radio as a child.
Chuck will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A military burial service will be held at Florida National Cemetery on Tuesday May 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are asked to arrive at Beyers Funeral Home on US-441 at 12:30 p.m. to drive in procession to the cemetery.
His stories, laughter, and kindness will be remembered always.
