South Sumter High School and South Sumter Junior FFA chapters have been named among Florida’s 2026 Premier FFA Chapters, an honor recognizing outstanding achievement in agricultural education, leadership and community engagement.
The announcement was made by the Florida FFA Association, which selects Premier Chapters based on excellence across multiple areas, including alumni and community partnerships, financial planning, public relations and overall FFA program success.
As part of this recognition, one student member and one advisor from each honored chapter will be celebrated on stage during the 98th Florida FFA State Convention & Expo, a statewide event that brings together thousands of student leaders, educators and industry professionals.
Earning Premier Chapter status reflects the dedication of South Sumter FFA students and advisors to building leadership skills, serving their community and preparing careers in agriculture and related industries.
FFA programs like those at South Sumter play a vital role in student development by combining classroom instruction, hands-on experience and leadership training.
