A Good Samaritan paid the price for offering to drive an intoxicated woman home from Gator Joe’s beachside bar.

An acquaintance of 26-year-old Savanah Rae Gosson of Summerfield was eating dinner at Gator Joe’s at Lake Weir in Ocklawaha, when he ran into her for the first time in two years around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Gosson asked for a ride home for her children. The man said felt bad for her because she was intoxicated. He agreed to give them a ride, and she told him to turn north on Southeast 108th Terrace Road from Southeast Maricamp Road. The road turned into soft sand, and his red Toyota truck got stuck.

At that point, Gosson grew agitated with her acquaintance, ordering him to get the truck unstuck. He said he would have to call to have the vehicle towed, and she became hostile. She kicked his windshield from inside the truck, causing it to break, before breaking his rearview mirrors, wiper blades and door handle, the report said.

Law enforcement later observed that the windshield was completely broken, with both wiper blades snapped off.

Gosson denied any thing had happened. She was clearly intoxicated and had dried blood on her hands, the report said.

Gosson was arrested on charge of criminal mischief (damage property over $1,000). She was booked at Marion County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
