A driver with a suspended license was arrested in an uninsured Jeep in The Villages.

Franklin Chester Hensley, 57, of Dunnellon, was driving the green two-door 1997 Jeep on Wednesday afternoon when an officer noticed the vehicle had a broken windshield, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A traffic stop was initiated on Warm Springs Avenue near the Village of Fenney.

The officer discovered the Jeep did not have a license plate assigned to it. The vehicle’s title indicated it was “sold” and the previous owner is dead.

Hensley admitted his license has been suspended and that the vehicle had no insurance. He also had been arrested in April by Wildwood police for driving while license suspended.

The Indiana native was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended, driving a vehicle with no registration and driving a vehicle without insurance. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,150 bond.
