A golf course maintenance worker was traumatically injured in a crash in The Villages.

The 58-year-old Inverness man who works for ASG Solutions was at the wheel of Club Car utility style golf cart at 1 p.m. Tuesday when he was traveling on the golf cart path from the Jacaranda Golf Course onto St. Charles Place near the Village of Pennecamp, according to information from the Florida Highway Patrol. The golf course maintenance worker did not stop at a stop sign and drove into the path of a white 2026 Hyundai Tucson utility vehicle which had been traveling on St. Charles Place at Abordale Lane. The vehicle was driven by an 81-year-old resident of the Village of Pine Ridge.

The two vehicles collided and the golf cart maintenance worker was knocked from the golf cart. He suffered traumatic, but non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

The Villager driving the other vehicle was transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Trailwinds Village on County Road 466A in Wildwood.
