Viola Kathleen Szymanski, age 81, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2026. She was born on October 5, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, to Mario and Marie D’Alo.
Viola was a woman of deep faith and a devoted member of the Catholic Church. She possessed a kind and loving spirit, never meeting a stranger and making friends wherever she went. Above all else, her family was the center of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Viola is survived by her son, Nick (Karen) Mercorella of Glen St. Mary, Florida; her daughter, Kathleen (Toussaint) Alvarez of Lake Worth, Florida; her stepsons, Lee Et (Cheri) Szymanski of St. Augustine, Florida, and Jack Szymanski of Ventura County, California; her sister, Henrietta Balzamo of Sayreville, New Jersey; and her beloved grandchildren, Alexandra, Kyle, Christian, Elizabeth, Jacob, Joshua, Nicky II, Jimmy, Sadie, and Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Szymanski; her parents, Mario and Marie D’Alo; and her brothers, Stanley and Dennis D’Alo.
Viola’s kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
