To the Editor:
Why is it that residents have to conserve water, but The Villages does not? Coming home late one night along Meggison Road, The Villages was watering the grass from State Road 470 all the way up to Morse Boulevard. Golf courses and all along the roadsides!
A pond behind my house was full after the past rains, and it looked nice. In one day, they drained it down 5 feet. That’s where all the water on Meggison Road is coming from, and all the ponds south of State Road 44.
As I have said before, rock landscapes do not need fertilizer and water. But then The Villages would not be charging you for their irrigation water and an extra 10%. It should be some sort of crime. They are the governing body who controls both the water fines and rules. It’s like the fox guarding the henhouse!
