When asked for his driver’s license, Vera Sierra instead handed over a passport. He claimed he has been awaiting approval to be granted a driver’s license after submitting the necessary documents. A check with dispatch confirmed he did not possess a valid driver’s license or an ID card in the United States, the report said.

Vera Sierra was arrested on charge of operate motor vehicle without valid license. The native of Mexico was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center with bond set at $500.
